Define the fitting's job in the assembly

Start with the assembly position: suspension, tension, connection, protection, grounding, stay or pole-line hardware. The correct product family follows the job it must perform in the installed system.

Check the interfaces

Selection depends on how the part interfaces with the conductor, insulator string, structure and neighbouring hardware. Record the relevant dimensions and drawing references rather than relying only on a product name.

  • Conductor or cable type and outside diameter
  • Applicable insulator or attachment arrangement
  • Structure interface and connection dimensions
  • Material, surface treatment and project documentation requirements

Keep the quotation review traceable

Ask suppliers to identify the reference drawing, model basis and any assumptions used in their response. This gives the project team a clearer route for comparing options and resolving open points.
